I started Silverwings after my dad was diagnosed with dementia. When he first tried to apply for Attendance Allowance on his own, he was rejected.
I helped him reapply, and this time we succeeded. The 30‑page form was challenging even for me — I could see why so many people struggle with it.
After helping a few more family friends with their applications, I discovered something shocking: 48% of all Attendance Allowance applications get rejected.
